The Emily A. Silverman Memorial Fund
committed to finding ways to bring the joy of dance to others
Emily Silverman felt most alive when she was dancing and for nearly 17 years dance became a constant focus and inspiration in her life. She found great joy in the outlet of self-expression through music and was pursing dance at Missouri Valley College until a car accident took her life on March 21, 2003.
The Emily A. Silverman Memorial Fund was created not only as a tribute to Emily's life, but also as a way to turn her passion for dance into opportunities for others. Through this fund the Silverman family hopes to be able to provide financial and start-up assistance for students with financial limitations and children who want to pursue dance at any level. Because an anonymous donor is covering all initial administrative cost, your tax-deductible donation can directly benefit those in need.
Your donations will be used in a variety of projects. Gently used shoes, dance attire, and costumes will be recycled from the more affluent studios, and tuition scholarships will be awarded and halls for "real" recitals will be arranged, are a few projects in the works.
The Silverman family is committed to keeping Emily's spirit and dreams alive, and your donation will make this possible.
